Convert WebP to JPG
Saved a picture from a website and got a .webp file that your program won't open? Converting it
to JPG makes it usable almost anywhere: photo viewers, office documents, print shops and upload
forms.
- Upload one or more WebP files, or a ZIP of a folder.
- Keep “JPG / JPEG” and quality 90.
- Click Convert.
Transparency and quality
JPG has no transparency. WebP pictures with see-through areas (logos, stickers, cut-outs) get a background colour in the JPG: white by default, or any colour you enter under More options. For a transparent result, convert to PNG instead.
Quality 90 keeps the JPG looking like the WebP; the JPG is usually a bit larger, because JPG is an older format. Lower the quality for smaller files. The JPGs are written with MozJPEG, an encoder tuned to give small files for their visual quality.
Animated WebP
A JPG can only hold one picture, so an animated WebP gives its first frame (you get a note when that happens). To keep the animation, convert to GIF instead, or keep it as WebP.
Good to know
- Pictures stored sideways with a rotation flag are turned upright.
- Camera info (EXIF) and GPS location are removed unless you keep them under More options; the colour profile is kept.
- Upload up to 200 files at once, or a ZIP with a whole folder: the result ZIP keeps the sub-folders.
