Another version of the same project (any of the kinds above). You get a report of added, removed and changed programs, sections, rungs, symbols and comments, from the first project to this one.

CX-Programmer stores text in the code page of the PC the project was made on. Automatic recognises it from the text; pick one if comments show wrong letters.

Print a CX-Programmer project to PDF

Printing an Omron program normally means opening it in CX-Programmer, which needs CX-One installed and licensed. Here you upload the .cxp file and download a PDF that reads like the ladder view of CX-Programmer, from any computer.

      What the printout contains

      • A first page with the project: file, CX-Programmer version it was saved with, PLC model and CPU, connection type, dates, and the number of programs, sections, rungs, symbols and function blocks.
      • A contents page and PDF bookmarks for every program and section, so a project with hundreds of sections stays easy to find your way around.
      • Every rung drawn on the grid: left and right bus bars, contacts (normally open, normally closed, differentiated up or down), coils, instruction boxes with one operand per line, parallel branches and output branches. Above each contact sit its comment, symbol name and address; output comments are printed past the right bus bar as in the editor. Each rung shows its rung number and step number, and its comment in a box above it.
      • Structured text programs and function blocks with line numbers, SFC charts with steps, transitions, branches and action blocks, and ladder function blocks with their variables.
      • Tables: programs with their tasks, the units of the I/O table, global and local symbols, and a cross reference listing where each address or symbol is read or written.

Pages are landscape so that rungs as wide as CX-Programmer's grid stay readable; very wide rungs are scaled to the page and very long ones continue on the next page.

      Which projects

Projects saved with CX-Programmer 9.03 to 9.82 were tested, for CP1E, CP1L, CP1H, CP2E, CJ1M, CJ2M, CJ2H and CS1 PLCs, as well as projects for the older C200H and CPM1A series. Projects saved as text (.cxt) give the same printout. A zipped project folder works too.

      Things to know

      • Rung numbers and step numbers count through the program across sections, as in CX-Programmer. After a rung that only exists as a drawing (a function block call) step numbers are left out, because the drawing does not say how many steps it takes.
      • Protected programs and function blocks are listed, but their content is not printed.

      Also in the download

The same content as an offline HTML viewer with search, the instruction list of each program as text, symbols, comments and the cross reference as CSV, and an Excel workbook.
