Another version of the same project (any of the kinds above). You get a report of added, removed and changed programs, sections, rungs, symbols and comments, from the first project to this one.

CX-Programmer stores text in the code page of the PC the project was made on. Automatic recognises it from the text; pick one if comments show wrong letters.

Your files are deleted after processing.

Sometimes you only need to see what a rung does: why an output does not come on, which input a timer waits for, where a bit is set. Upload the .cxp file and open the viewer that comes with the result: one HTML file that runs in any browser, also without an internet connection.

      What the viewer shows

      • The program tree on the left: the programs with their sections, structured text and SFC programs, function blocks, symbol tables and the cross reference.
      • Each section drawn rung by rung as in CX-Programmer's ladder view: contacts, coils, instruction boxes with their operands, branches, function block calls with their parameters, symbol names, addresses and comments.
      • The instruction list of every rung, one click under the drawing, for when you want the exact mnemonics (LD, AND, ANDLD, OUT TR0 ...).
      • A search box that finds symbols, addresses, instructions and comments across the project and takes you to the rung.
      • Tables you can filter: global and local symbols, used addresses with how often each one is read and written, and the cross reference.

The result page already shows the first section drawn, the program list and a summary of the project, so you can see right away whether the file is the one you need.

Finding your way in a large project

Projects with hundreds of sections open in the same way. Type an address such as 100.03 or D200, a symbol name or a word from a comment into the search box: the results list every rung that holds it. The cross reference table says for every address in which program, section, rung and step it is used and whether it is read or written there.

      Which files

CX-Programmer projects (.cxp) and projects saved as text (.cxt) for CP1E, CP1L, CP1H, CP2E, CJ1M, CJ2M, CJ2H, CS1 and older PLCs, CX-Programmer library files (.cxr), and zipped project folders. The .opt file next to a project holds only the window layout; it is not needed.

      Also in the download

A PDF printout of the whole project, the instruction lists as text, and the symbols, comments and cross reference as CSV and Excel.
