CX-Programmer project to mnemonics (instruction list) (Beta)

Turn the ladder of an Omron project into its instruction list: one text file per program with steps, instructions, operands, symbol names and comments.

Opens: CXP, CXT, CXR, BAK, TXT, ZIP
Saves: PDF, HTML, TXT, CSV, XLSX

A CX-Programmer project (.cxp, also its .bak backup), a project saved as text (.cxt), a CX-Programmer library file (.cxr), an instruction list as text (.txt), or a .zip holding one of them.

Another version of the same project (any of the kinds above). You get a report of added, removed and changed programs, sections, rungs, symbols and comments, from the first project to this one.

CX-Programmer stores text in the code page of the PC the project was made on. Automatic recognises it from the text; pick one if comments show wrong letters.

Your files are deleted after processing.

The instruction list of an Omron program as text

CX-Programmer shows a program either as ladder or as mnemonics: the instruction list the PLC runs (LD 0.00, AND 0.01, OUT 100.00, MOV(021) #10 D100 ...). Upload a project and you get that list for every program and function block as a text file, laid out like the mnemonic view.

      What each file holds

      • A header with the project, the PLC model, the program name and its task.
      • Every section in program order, every rung with its comment, then one line per instruction with the rung number, the step number, the instruction with its function code and the operands, one per line as in CX-Programmer.
      • Next to each operand its symbol name, address and comment, so the list can be read on its own.
      • Comments attached to single instructions, right after the instruction.
      • Structured text programs and SFC charts as text, and for function blocks their variables and body.

With more than one program the text files come together in one ZIP archive.

      Why the instruction list

The mnemonics are the most exact form of an Omron program: what the CPU executes, step by step, including ANDLD, ORLD and the temporary relays TR0 to TR15 that the ladder view hides. They are handy to check a rung by hand, to compare two programs with a text compare tool, or to quote a piece of logic in an email or a ticket.

      Which projects

CX-Programmer projects (.cxp), projects saved as text (.cxt) and library files (.cxr) for CP, CJ, CS and older C-series PLCs. Rungs that CX-Programmer keeps only as a drawing (function block calls, ladder function block bodies) are listed element by element with their position, because the project holds no instruction list for them.

      The other way round

Only have the mnemonics, say rungs pasted into a text file? Upload the .txt and get them drawn as ladder rungs, with the printout and viewer as for a project.

      Also in the download

A ladder printout (PDF) with every rung drawn from the same instruction lists, an offline HTML viewer where each drawn rung has its instructions one click away, and the symbols, comments and cross reference as CSV and Excel.
