Apply one effect to a whole video: play it backwards, change its speed, make a boomerang or a loop, turn or mirror it, remove the sound, or change how it looks.
The effects
- Reverse: the video plays backwards, with the sound reversed too or removed. Long videos work: the video is reversed in short pieces that are put back together, so length is limited only by processing time.
- Change the speed: 0.25× to 4×. The sound keeps its pitch and stays in step with the picture, or can be removed. Speeding up drops frames and slowing down repeats them, so the frame rate stays steady.
- Boomerang: forwards, then backwards, ready to loop smoothly; for clips up to 60 seconds, without sound.
- Loop: the whole video 2 to 10 times in a row.
- Rotate: 90° either way or 180°, for videos filmed sideways or upside down.
- Flip: mirror left and right (for example front-camera recordings), top and bottom, or both.
- Remove the sound: the video itself is copied unchanged, so there is no quality loss.
- Black and white, Sepia and Vintage film look (faded colours and a vignette).
- Brightness, contrast and saturation, as percentages.
- Blur and Sharpen, light, medium or strong.
- Fade in and out from and to black, with the sound fading along.
Quality and format
Every effect except removing the sound re-encodes the video at high quality: H.264 for MP4, MOV and MKV, VP9 for WebM; other formats become MP4. Upright phone videos are turned upright first, so rotating and flipping work on the picture as you see it, and non-square pixels are made square. The main sound track is kept, unchanged where possible (colour effects, rotating, flipping).
Limits
Uploads can be up to 2 GB. Effects that re-encode handle about 25 minutes of 1080p video at 30 frames per second (6 minutes of 4K), counted on the result: a video slowed to half speed is twice as long. Reversing needs a little more time per minute. Removing the sound works on videos up to 3 hours.
