Convert ProPresenter 6 songs (.pro6) to ProPresenter 7 (Beta)

ProPresenter 7 has its own import for ProPresenter 6 documents. This page is for converting a whole folder of .pro6 songs at once, on any computer and without ProPresenter at hand: from a backup, for another church, or to see what's in the files before importing them. It also takes the older .pro5 and .pro4 documents.

What is kept

• Groups: each ProPresenter 6 group becomes a ProPresenter 7 group with the same name and colour, and its slides in the same order.
• Arrangements: every arrangement comes along with its name, and the selected one stays selected, so the song plays in the order your team is used to.
• Slide text, line by line, including empty “Blank” slides.
• CCLI details: author, song title, publisher, copyright year and song number.

In .pro5 documents the groups come across the same way; in .pro4 documents, which have no groups, the slide labels become groups.

What is not kept

The conversion is about the words. Backgrounds, videos, audio, cues, props and the text styling (fonts, sizes, shadows, positions) are not carried over. The text arrives in ProPresenter's default text box, so apply a theme to the songs after importing. Songs whose slides have no text at all, such as video-only presentations, are skipped and listed in the song list.

How to do it

1. Zip the folder with your .pro6 files (on Windows usually under Documents\ProPresenter6), or upload the files themselves, up to 500 at a time.
2. Keep “ProPresenter 7 or later” selected and convert.
3. Check the preview: it lists every song with its groups in sung order.
4. Unzip the download and drag the .pro files onto a library in ProPresenter 7.
