EasyWorship keeps its songs in a database inside its data folder. This page reads those database files directly and gives you every song as ordinary files, even without EasyWorship installed: from a backup, from an old computer's hard drive, or before you uninstall it.
Which files you need

Upload both files of a pair together, or a ZIP of the folder. The rest of the folder (themes, media, other databases) is ignored, so zipping the whole EasyWorship folder is fine too.
Formats to choose from
- OpenLyrics (
.xml): an open exchange format that OpenLP and FreeShow import, and the most complete choice for keeping the songs. - ChordPro or plain text: readable files that most song programs and apps import.
- ProPresenter 7 or 6, if you are moving to ProPresenter.
- The song list (Excel or CSV) comes with every conversion: title, authors, CCLI number, copyright and the sections of each song, useful for CCLI reporting or cleaning up the library.
How EasyWorship's lyrics are read
EasyWorship stores each song as formatted text. Empty lines (or, in EasyWorship 7, slide breaks) separate the slides, and a label on a slide's first line, such as “Verse 2” or “Chorus”, names it. Choruses written out after every verse are recognised and stored once, with the order in which they are sung. Accented and non-Latin letters are kept, whatever language the songs are in.
Songs without any lyrics are listed in the song list rather than converted. Formatting such as bold words, colours and font sizes is not exported.
