Open a .wlmp file without Movie Maker
A .wlmp file is a Windows Movie Maker project: the plan of a movie, not the movie itself. It
names the videos, pictures and music on your computer, how long each one plays, the
transitions, title cards and captions. Movie Maker is no longer offered by Microsoft and often
won't install on Windows 10 or 11, and no other program opens these projects.
Upload the .wlmp file here together with the videos, pictures and music it uses, and get the
finished movie as an MP4 that plays on any computer, phone or TV, or uploads to YouTube.
Finding the media files
The project remembers the folders the files were in when you made it (often Pictures, Videos and Music on the old PC, or a camera's memory card). Upload the project on its own first: the media list in the results names every file it needs and the folder it was in. Then upload the project again with those files; they can come from any folder, they are matched by name.
If some files are gone for good, the movie is still made: each missing file is replaced by a card naming it, so everything else stays in time.
