Open RSLogix 500 projects without RSLogix
SLC 500 and MicroLogix machines are still everywhere, and their programs live in .RSS files
that only RSLogix 500 or RSLogix Micro can open. Upload the file here to read and print the
program on any computer.
What you see
- Every ladder file drawn, numbered as in RSLogix (
LAD 2 - MAIN), with the rung numbers, branches, contacts, coils and instruction boxes. Boxes show their parameters and the current values stored in the project under them, for example the preset and accumulator of a timer. - Rung comments and page titles above the rungs, and the symbol and description of each address above its contact or coil, as in an RSLogix printout.
- Processor information: type, name, RSLogix version, and for MicroLogix 1100, 1200 and 1400 the expansion I/O modules by slot.
- The program and data file lists, the values of the data files (bits, timers, counters, control, integers, floats, longs and strings), the full documentation database with every symbol and description, and a cross reference of every address used in the logic.
Downloads
- A PDF printout (Letter or A4) with bookmarks for every ladder file.
- An offline HTML viewer with the file tree, drawn rungs and a search box.
- The program as ASCII text (
.SLC), oneSOR ... EORline per rung withBST,NXBandBNDfor branches, with the data table values; and the symbols and descriptions as an.EAScomma separated file. - CSV and Excel tables of addresses, comments, data values and cross reference.
Processors and versions
The files we tested with were saved by RSLogix 500 and RSLogix Micro versions 8 to 12 for SLC 500,
MicroLogix 1000, MicroLogix 1100 (Series A and B), MicroLogix 1200 and MicroLogix 1400. Backups
named like Project_BAK004.RSS open the same way. The ladder text was checked against the rung
text and PDF printouts that the authors of those projects made with RSLogix.
A few rarely used instructions are shown by their code (for example OP2B) with their operands;
the result page lists them. The rack I/O configuration of SLC 500 processors is not shown yet.
Compare two versions
Upload the older file as the PLC program and the newer one under "Second version to compare" to see changed rungs (drawn before and after), symbols, descriptions and data values.
