An .ezd file is a project saved by EZCAD2, the marking software that comes with many fiber
and other galvo lasers. Without EZCAD, and without the PC it is installed on, there is normally no
way to look inside one. Upload it here to see the drawing and its settings and to get it in
formats other programs open.
What you see after uploading
- The drawing, rendered from the file's own geometry, next to the small preview picture EZCAD stored when the project was saved, so you can compare the two.
- The pens in use with their colour, power, marking speed, pulse frequency, pulse width, number of passes and hatch spacing, angle and direction: the settings you need to recreate the job on another machine.
- What the project holds: how many curves, rectangles, texts (barcodes and QR codes included), hatches and pictures, how many pens, and the size of the design in millimetres.
- Warnings about anything that could not be carried over, such as wait or input/output commands, which control the machine and have no drawing.
Files you can download
| File | Opens in |
|---|---|
LightBurn project (.lbrn2) | LightBurn, with one layer per pen and the settings filled in |
| Layered SVG | Inkscape, Illustrator, CorelDRAW, most laser and cutting software |
| DXF | CAD programs, sign and engraving software |
| PNG pictures | Any image viewer: the converted drawing and EZCAD's own preview |
Good to know
- Text, barcodes and QR codes arrive as outlines, exactly as EZCAD drew them, so the fonts do not need to be installed. They can't be edited as text any more.
- EZCAD3 projects (
.ez3) open the same way: upload them here too. - Nothing is changed in your file; it is only read. The upload is deleted as soon as the conversion finishes and the results are deleted after 30 minutes.
