View a ZAP file in your browser
A .zap file (.zap15_1, .zap17, .zap19 and so on) is a TIA Portal project archive: the
whole project folder packed into one file, the number saying which TIA Portal version saved it.
TIA Portal has to retrieve the archive before it shows anything, and only a version at least as
new as the one in the file name can. Open the archive here and look through the project without
unpacking or retrieving it.
How it works
- Drop the
.zapfile on the viewer above, or choose it with Choose files. - Our server reads the archive and draws every network. A small project appears within seconds; a big one takes longer.
- Click through the project tree: blocks with their drawn LAD and FBD networks, SCL and STL code, data blocks, tag tables and watch tables. Search for a tag, click it to see where it is used, and go back and forth with the Back and Forward buttons.
Files you can make from it
- the printout of the whole project (PDF, A4 or Letter);
- the sources of SCL and STL blocks, data blocks and PLC data types (ZIP), in the form TIA Portal imports with "Generate blocks from source";
- an Excel workbook with blocks, networks, interfaces, tags and the cross reference;
- an offline viewer (HTML) to pass on to someone without internet access at the machine.
Things to know
- Only the archive is needed. It holds the whole project. If you have the unpacked project
folder instead, zip it with its
Systemfolder and open the.zip. - The
.apfile alone is not a project. A file likeConveyor.ap17holds the project's name and settings; the program lives in theSystemfolder next to it. - A damaged archive (cut off while copying or mailing) gives a message saying so. Copy the file again from its source.
- Protected blocks stay closed. Know-how protected blocks are listed with their interfaces, but not their code.
Archives from TIA Portal V11 to V20 have been tested. What our server makes from the archive is deleted automatically after 30 minutes.
