A TIA Portal project viewer that runs in the browser
TIA Portal is a large installation with a licence, and it opens projects only from its own version or older ones. To look at a program, answer a question about a machine or check what an integrator changed, that is a lot to set up. This viewer opens the project in a browser tab instead, on any computer.
What you see
- The project tree with each PLC, its program blocks in their folders, technology objects, PLC data types, tag tables, watch and force tables and text lists, HMI devices and the hardware.
- Blocks as in the editor: LAD and FBD networks drawn with contacts, coils, boxes, timers, counters and calls of other blocks, the tag names and comments over each operand, and network titles and comments. SCL blocks show their code line by line, STL blocks their statements.
- Interfaces and data blocks with data types, start values and comments, opened member by member.
- Search across block names, comments, code, interface members and tags.
- Cross reference: click a tag or an address to see every network that reads or writes it, or a block to see who calls it.
Which projects
Archives (.zap11 to .zap21) and project folders saved with TIA Portal V11 to V20 have been
tested, with S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-300, S7-400 and ET 200SP CPUs. For a project folder, zip the
folder that holds the .ap* file together with its System folder; System/PEData.plf alone
works too. Every PLC in the project is read.
STEP 7 V5.x projects and STEP 5 programs open in the same viewer, so a machine with an old S7-300 or an S5 program can be checked the same way.
When you need it on paper
The Export button makes the printout of the whole project as a PDF, the block sources as a ZIP, an Excel workbook or an offline HTML viewer. Compare shows what changed between two versions of a project, with the changed networks drawn before and after.
Things to know
Know-how protected blocks are listed with their interfaces, but their code is stored encrypted and is not shown. The viewer reads projects; it does not change them or go online with a PLC. What our server makes from your project is deleted automatically after 30 minutes.
