Cricut Design Space cannot open Silhouette Studio's .studio3 or .studio files, and many blog
and shop designs are only offered in those formats. Convert them here to SVG, which Design Space
uploads directly.
How to get a Silhouette design into Design Space
- Upload the
.studio3(or.studio) file here. - Choose what Design Space should get:
- Full design for designs you will print (Print Then Cut): colours, pictures and text.
- Cut lines only for vinyl, card or iron-on: just the shapes that Silhouette Studio would cut, as plain outlines.
- Download the SVG.
- In Design Space: Upload → Upload Image, choose the SVG, then add it to the canvas.
- Check the size on the canvas before cutting. The SVG is written in millimetres at the size the design has in Silhouette Studio.
Things that work differently in Design Space
- Operations. Silhouette's cut settings are not Design Space operations. Shapes to print need the operation set to Print Then Cut in Design Space; the result's object table shows which shapes were cut and which were print only in Silhouette Studio.
- Registration marks. Cricut uses its own marks for Print Then Cut. Leave Silhouette's registration marks out (they are off by default).
- Text. Letters come as outlines, so the design looks right without the font. You cannot edit the text as text in Design Space.
- Holes. Letters and cut-outs with holes keep them.

Upload up to 50 files, or a .zip, and download all SVGs (and DXFs) together in one ZIP.
Licences
Converting a file does not change what you may do with the design. Designs from the Silhouette Design Store stay under the store's terms, and other designs under their designer's.
