Free reference library tools: EndNote, Zotero, BibTeX
Tools for researchers and students who need to move or rescue a reference library. The EndNote tool reads a library directly, without EndNote installed, so it works after a licence runs out, on a new computer, or when an old EndNote no longer starts.
Upload a compressed .enlx library, or a ZIP of the .enl file together with its .Data folder, and download your references as EndNote XML (the most complete way into Zotero), RIS for Mendeley, Citavi and most other reference managers, BibTeX for LaTeX and Overleaf, or a CSV file for Excel. Your groups come along, and so do attached PDFs when they are in the upload, arranged so Zotero links them to the right references.
Before you download, a preview shows how many references were found, the groups and reference types, and the first entries, so you can check that nothing is missing.
