Open an FLP file without FL Studio
Somebody sent you an .flp file, your FL Studio licence is on an old computer, or you switched to
another DAW years ago and still have projects you want back. Nothing but FL Studio opens the file,
and it does not say what is in it. Upload it here and see the whole project: its tempo, every
channel with its instrument or sample, every pattern, the playlist as a picture, the mixer and the
plug-ins it uses.
How to do it
- Upload the
.flpfile (FL Studio 8 to FL Studio 2026). If you have its samples, put the project and the samples in a.zipand upload that instead. - The result page shows the playlist, the channel list and the patterns straight away, with a report you can read or keep.
- Download the parts you need: the song as a MIDI file, each pattern as MIDI, a REAPER project, or the lists as Excel and CSV.
What you can see in it
- The song: tempo (and tempo automation), time signature, length, title, author, genre and the project comments, when the project was created and how long was spent on it.
- The channel rack: every channel with its name, kind (sampler, instrument, layer, audio clip, automation clip), plug-in or sample, volume, pan, pitch and the mixer insert it plays into.
- The patterns with their notes, and the playlist: which pattern, audio clip or automation clip sits where, on which track.
- The mixer: insert names, volume, pan, routing and the effect in every slot.
- The samples with their paths, and which are missing from your upload.
Good to know
The project file holds the notes and the settings, not the sound of the plug-ins: what you get back is the music as MIDI and the list of instruments and effects to set up again.
