A Hy-Tek export (.hy3, .cl2 or the .zip Meet Manager makes), an SDIF file (.sd3), a Lenex file (.lxf / .lef from SPLASH, EasyWk or swimrankings) or a meet event file (.hyv / .ev3).

    Options

The preview, validation report and meet summary are always shown.

    More options

Team code or part of the team name, e.g. NCAP. Leave empty for all teams.

For sharing results publicly. Lenex output then uses 1 January of the matching year.

Hy-Tek stores names in Windows-1252 (é, ü, ñ). Untick for plain ASCII (Muller instead of Müller).

HY3 files don't store the meet's country. Empty = from the team addresses, else USA.

HY3 files don't store the meet's city, which Lenex requires. Leave empty when the source file has it.

Your files are deleted after processing.

SDIF files (.cl2, .sd3) are the US swimming data standard, written by Hy-Tek and by team software such as TeamUnify and WinSwim. Sometimes Hy-Tek's own .hy3 merge format is wanted instead, for example by a meet host who asks for HY3 entries. This page converts SDIF into an HY3 file with valid line checksums.

How to convert CL2 to HY3

    1. Upload the .cl2, .sd3 or .sdi file.
    2. Convert to is preset to Hy-Tek .hy3.
    3. Optional, under More options: keep only one team, remove birth dates, or switch accented letters to plain ASCII.
    4. Download the .hy3. Every line has the two-digit checksum Hy-Tek software checks on import.

    Results and entries

A results CL2 becomes an HY3 results file with places, times, heats, lanes, splits, disqualifications and relays with their swimmers. An entries file (for example from TeamUnify) becomes an HY3 entries file with seed times. SDIF files from vendors that don't write Hy-Tek's checksums are fine as input; the HY3 gets correct checksums either way.

How close is it to Hy-Tek's own HY3?

Hy-Tek Meet Manager can export the same meet as both CL2 and HY3. Seven such meets were used as a reference: converting the CL2 to HY3 here agrees with Hy-Tek's own HY3 field by field. The only differences are ones the two Hy-Tek files already have between them, for example a CL2 without some swimmers' ages, or swim-offs that the HY3 stores as a separate event and the CL2 as a round.

The HY3 names Tooladoo as the writing software in its header, and its layout follows Hy-Tek's columns. Importing into Hy-Tek programs themselves couldn't be tested, so keep the CL2 as well.

    Limits of the HY3 format

    • Names and team names longer than HY3's fixed columns are shortened, with a note.
    • Swim styles outside the standard strokes are left out.
    • Anything the CL2 doesn't contain can't appear in the HY3; SDIF has no reaction times, for example.

If the CL2 itself was rejected because of a checksum error, choose Repaired original instead: the checksums are recalculated and nothing else changes. See fixing checksum errors. To look at the results in a spreadsheet, see HY3 and CL2 to Excel.
